Coworking Day Passes on Long Island: What They Cost and Where to Get One

Coworking Day Passes on Long Island: What They Cost and Where to Get One

A coworking day pass buys you one day at a coworking space: a desk, fast Wi-Fi, coffee and a quiet place to get work done, with no membership required. It's for remote workers who need a change of scenery, South Shore visitors who can't take calls from their in-laws' kitchen table, and parents who need one quiet morning to finish a project. At our coworking space in Long Beach, NY, a day pass is $45, 9 AM to 5 PM, a 4-hour half-day pass is $24, and you can reserve ahead or walk in.

What a coworking day pass includes

Every space defines it a little differently, but here's the usual shape of it:

Usually includedSometimes extra
A hot desk or lounge seat for the dayMeeting rooms (usually hourly)
Wi-FiPrinting beyond a few pages
Coffee and teaPhone booths (some spaces charge)
Restrooms, common kitchenParking (or it's street-only)
Access during business hoursAfter-hours access

At Bridgeworks, the $45 covers fiber Wi-Fi (1 Gbps), coffee and tea, and the lounge and café areas from 9 to 5. Meeting rooms start at $25 an hour if you need to take a client call somewhere private. That's the most common add-on anywhere, so budget for it if your day involves video calls.

How much a day pass costs on Long Island

Here's the range from prices published on local operators' own sites:

SpaceTownDay pass
Modern Coworking (Freeport Coworks)Freeport$30
Modern Coworking (LB Co-Works)Long Beach$35
BridgeworksLong Beach, NY$45
MOSS Wellness WorkspaceGarden City$55

So expect $30 to $55 for a coworking day pass on Long Island. If you only need a morning or an afternoon, Bridgeworks also sells a 4-hour half-day pass for $24, the only half-day option we found on the island. Regus is the main national chain here. Its Garden City center sells a coworking day desk for about $85 (per third-party listings), and its $179–$249 day offices in Nassau are private rooms for the day, not a desk in a shared space.

Then there's the train. The LIRR's own weekday day pass from Long Beach is $27.50, so a day in Manhattan costs you nearly $30 in transit before you've paid for a desk. That's the quiet math behind working locally.

Prices as of November 2026.

A few notes on this table:

  • Modern Coworking's Long Beach location is the cheapest day pass in Long Beach at $35, across the street from the Long Beach LIRR station.
  • Freeport at $30 is the lowest price on the island, with 24/7 access for members.
  • MOSS in Garden City is the wellness-focused option, and it has offered 25% off your first day pass, the closest thing to a trial day we found locally.
  • Totus in Melville doesn't sell a hot-desk day pass at all; the $90 gets you a private day office. Fine if you need a door that closes.

How to book a day pass

Most spaces offer two ways: book online ahead of time, or walk in. Booking is the safer bet if you need a specific seat or a meeting room. Bring a photo ID and your laptop; everything else is there. If you're driving, Bridgeworks has on-site parking plus free street parking. Near other LIRR stations, check the parking situation before you go.

At Bridgeworks you can reserve in advance or walk in.

Day pass vs membership: when to switch

The math is simple enough to do on a napkin:

Days per monthCheapest optionMonthly cost
1Day pass$45
2Basic plan (2 days included)$55
3–9Basic plan + $45 per extra day$100–$370
10+Weekday plan (unlimited Mon–Fri)$375

At two days a month, the $55 Basic plan already beats two day passes. From about 10 days a month, the $375 Weekday plan is the cheaper choice. It also adds unlimited 6 AM–11 PM weekday access, a virtual address, 3 hours of meeting rooms and printing, which can make it worth it from 8 or 9 days. The crossover comes sooner than most people guess.

Getting the most out of a day pass

  • Arrive early. The good seats go first, and the coffee's freshest at 9.
  • Use a phone booth or book a meeting room for calls. Open floors are fine until you're the person on a sales call. Bridgeworks has free phone booths for short calls, and meeting rooms from $25/hr for 2–25 people.
  • Take the LIRR. Most spaces in the table are steps from a station, which saves you from hunting for parking.
  • Make it a beach-break day. Walk the boardwalk at lunch; that's the whole point of working from the South Shore. Our lunch-spots guide has the short list, and the coffee guide covers the stop before 9 AM.

FAQ

Can I walk in without booking?
At Bridgeworks, yes: day passes are available to walk-ins during business hours. Other spaces vary. MOSS takes online bookings, and it's worth calling ahead anywhere else.

Is there a free trial day?
Bridgeworks doesn't offer a free day; the $45 day pass is the low-risk way to try the space. No Long Island operator we found publishes a free trial day. MOSS Wellness Workspace has offered 25% off your first day pass, which is the closest thing to one.

Can I bring a guest?
At Bridgeworks, members can bring a guest free for up to 2 hours per visit; otherwise guests pay the $45 day-pass rate. Elsewhere, policies vary. Modern's Freeport location welcomes one guest or client at a time in the open workspace. Ask ahead anywhere else.

Are there half-day passes?
Yes, at Bridgeworks: a half-day pass gives you 4 hours of coworking for $24. None of the other Long Island spaces above publishes a half-day pass. Elsewhere, the workaround is booking by the hour: Modern's Long Beach location rents conference rooms and private offices by the hour.

Is parking included?
At Bridgeworks there's on-site parking plus free street parking. Near LIRR stations elsewhere, plan on station or street parking and check before you go.
